PURPOSE OF THE JOB

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Analyse large and complex data sets to uncover insights and trends that inform business decisions and drive growth

  • Provide actionable insights to enhance customer targeting and segmentation strategies

  • Design and build the feature stores for model training

  • Develop predictive models to forecast customer behaviour and optimise marketing efforts

  • Apply advanced analytics to inform strategic marketing decisions

  • Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders and decision makers in a clear and concise manner

  • Drive innovation by identifying new data sources and methodologies for improved customer understanding

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest data science technologies, methodologies and trends

Requirements

ROLE  REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Operations Research

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in data science, with a strong emphasis on predictive modelling and machine learning

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL

    • A basic understanding of code repositories, git and CI/CD

    • Experience with machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, etc.)

    • Experience with statistical analysis and hypothesis testing

    • Knowledge of big data technologies such as GCP, Hadoop and Spark

    • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Power BI, etc.)

    • Strong Mathematical ability

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders

    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to tackle ambiguous business problems

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment

    • A self-driven team player who is results driven, assumes ownership of the given task and is

    • committed to excellence

    • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for exploring new data sources and methodologies
