PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To provide support to the buying team to ensure the products fulfil the PEP requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate and advise on product development
-
Provide information for technical specifications that are documented (by the buyer) for suppliers to use when creating products to be developed for production.

Pre-production and production samples are approved or rejected
-
Approval/ rejection of Fabric Test and Safety Test Reports
-
Bulk audit assessments from DCs and Stores for workmanship and measurements
-
Research and Development
-
Assist with the development or revision of technical manuals

Store Visits

Ad hoc responsibilities
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
-
Education: 3 year diploma or degree in Clothing Production and Textiles / Design etc.

Experience: 2-3 years in a retail or manufacturing environment

Industry experience (e.g. work experience in a factory) will be an advantage
-
Industry experience (i.e. work in a factory) will be an advantage
-
Experience in a buying and quality assurance environment will be an advantage
-
Solid hard and soft product experience
-
PC Literate: MS Office / Google (Excel/Google Sheets – Intermediate)

CorelDraw / Adobe illustrator
-
Knowledge of fabrics will be an advantage
-
Quality of fit for purpose assessments will reflect high technical competence

Exposure to in-house systems (e.g. Product Life Cycle Management (PLM)) or internet-based systems

Knowledge and understanding of safety requirements related to the South African market will be an advantage

Knowledge and understanding of Centric will be an advantage

Knowledge of Homeware Hards and Softs product manufacturing
